News Flash! ABC News links Al-Qaeda & Saddam!

Whoa! This is amazing (hat tip to Cori at Rantingprofs). Who'd-a-thunk that ABC News would actually verify what many sources on the internet have written about for months- that there were definite ties between Saddam and Al-Q beforethe US-led coalition went in and took Saddam down. Check this out:

During the 1990s, Zarqawi trained under bin Laden in Afghanistan. After the fall of the Taliban, he fled to northwestern Iraq and worked with poisons for use in potential attacks, officials say.

During the summer of 2002, he underwent nasal surgery at a Baghdad hospital, officials say. They mistakenly originally thought, however, that Zarqawi had his leg amputated due to an injury.

In late 2002, officials say, Zarqawi began establishing sleeper cells in Baghdad and acquiring weapons from Iraqi intelligence officials.

This is the money part. Read that last paragraph again and mentally underline the words "weapons from Iraqi intelligence officials"And then play that sentence back in your mind when your liberal pals start squawking on about no connection between Saddam and Al-Qaeda. Yeah, right...
